The sound seemed to pack up on my pc when it got to the new engine bit!

......it must be great queuing on the forecourt with all those Polish Lorry drivers!

......and don't forget, you need those gloves!

......and don't forget, the higher price of that fuel - unless it's pink!

......and don't forget, the more expensive servicing!

......and don't forget, the smell!

......and don't forget, you paid loads more for your Space Ship in the first place!

......otherwise it would be great!

......it must be great queuing on the forecourt with all those Polish Lorry drivers! Yes, they are well known for trying to use the car pumps instead of the lorry ones

......and don't forget, you need those gloves! for hands that do dishes...

......and don't forget, the higher price of that fuel - unless it's pink! true - but then the mpg is just a bit higher too

......and don't forget, the more expensive servicing! ok - one I actually can't argue against

......and don't forget, the smell! strangely, once in the sealed fuel tank, it's a bit difficult to notice this

......and don't forget, you paid loads more for your Space Ship in the first place! there's always a price to pay for quality!

......otherwise it would be great!

Of course you haven't noticed the smell, you are aways in front of it, it's the poor bu**ers behind that do the complaining!

......and you shouldn't bring up that word 'quality' on this site, it gets the posters all in a tis was!

Since we got our 1.8 on Friday, have managed 44mpg. Assuming that the trip comp is 10% out, its still 40mpg. Gotta smile at that, we only just about got that from our old CR-V 2.2, and that was downhill with a following wind (OK, it was a bit of a brick through the air when compared to the Civic, but still v happy non the less!)

Diesel might be the fuel of satan, but i can safely say i've had less problems if any with diesel cars than petrol ones (had 6 petrol and 4 diesel in my lifetime) and more fun putting my foot down and getting more mpg than a petrol while accelerating (where allowed of course)

Surely it's a no-brainer?

I'm of the firm opinion that the 2.2i CDTi engine is one of the best in the industry at present. Sorry, not really anything else to say on the matter, just thought I would voice my opinion.

Unhappy So why does mine sound so flippin noisy??

Only ever had petrol cars before. Decided to go with the advertising blurb and try the diesel (2.2 CTdi). Had 2 hire cars while waiting for the Honda to arrive (VW Jetta and Citroen Xara Picasso) both were diesel but both sounded quieter than the Honda. Been on a service drive with the dealer who assures me its normal.... Perhaps its just me being too picky...

This is my fourth diesel engined car and its the only one, whilst, driving, I have never seen any smoke.
My VAG TDi was enough to coat the car behind in soot.
The only engine that comes close to being as efficient and as quiet is that of a BMW

This is my 3rd diesel andi agree with robbo. Its the quietist and gives out no soot, my other two were a C4 2.0HDi and a Bora 1.9TDi. I know its the fuel of satan but i'm sticking with diesels from now on
