managed > 500 miles a few times in my 1.8
Hi
just recently with the price of petrol hitting 105 I've been working on the economy a bit. Of my last 4 fillups, I've managed just over 500 miles 3 times. Never more than 530 though. not bad for a petrol. my trip meter b is on 3600 and showing 53.5 mpg. not bad, nearly all motorway though with cc on 70 dead. It wouldn't do that in town. for those with newer cars, mines done 55k miles now and the economy does get better as things wear in. |

I've had that at the beginning of the tank - the trick is to manage at least 200 miles keeping the VTEC (on your car) and rev lights off!!! My best is 3 days |

Tom Will power has kicked in.... (or is it that the best I can find DERV for is 116.9 per litre 59.5 mpg over 65 miles return to work (with climate set to Auto) doing up to 70 where possible (and legal) and even the rev lights once! On 50 litre tank that will be 650 miles I wonder how long that will last! |

The Speedo is not correct full stop. It has somewhere in the region of 5-7% offset. No Speedo is ever spot on, just the difference in the output is more noticiable with the digital speedo. Thats why when you sit in adverage speed camera's you may find people pass you as they are going just that wee bitty quicker.
You would have to Calibarate the speedo, there is a thread on that....that makes it a bit more accurate than it currently is. |

I still wish I had the willpower to get 420 miles out of everytank in a CTDi.
My tyres (thank goodness I only have 16" wheels) and brakes might last a bit longer too |

Tripcomputer is always way off, especially when you've just filled her up. After 56 km it said i could still do 750 km....
Its a petrol and i have never achieved anything higher then 620 km on one tank of fuel, car has now 10500 km on the clock. But i'll let you know if i should ever clip that 800 km barrier (without driving like a mother in law on the highway). grtz |

When mine is near empty, the trip computer count down almost twice the rate of the car. It computer says 100 km left, it will claim 50 km left 25 km later. You can't count on anything nowadays.
Every time I try to check the mileage, I get tempted by some "cheap" petrol, so I yet I haven't passed the 600 km line. |

About 400 miles to the tank but it depends if I have some long runs as my daily commute is only 5 miles each way which keeps the mpg down! Sitll like the power so the lead boots are still on for me!
