How Many Miles To A Tank ?

Can anybody help answer a question ?

How many miles on average do you get from a 2.2ctdi tank ?

I have a new Type s GT coming and my company pay me pence per mile so i am trying to work out if i will be up or down on an average tank.

I will de doing a mixture of town & motorway miles around 600-800 a week.

Any feedback would really help although i realise it depends on your right foot !!!

various threads about the mpg you should expect, and the Civ has a 50ltr tank (warning when roughly 5ltrs left)

but you should be looking at around 430+ miles before the warning light comes on
most 2.2 owners are getting roughly 42-45 mpg (once the engine has loosened up a bit), though a few get less, and some get more

TTDegs is pretty much spot-on -

Over 28 normal tank-fills of about 44-46 litres, I've averaged 435 miles per tank, with a best of 527 miles (mid-summer wandering about a rural area) and a worst of 400 (freezing December all miles in the city).

just as an excuse to get this pic out again

If you are really, really careful, you could get over 700 miles to the tank...

shieldy - for complete results, check out the survey, and fukter for 1.8 i-shift
http://www.civinfo.com/forum/survey....results&sid=32

but it looks like most owners are getting about 35-40 in town, 38-44 for mixed and 40-45 mpg for motorway

so roughly 350 - 450 miles per tank (to empty)

Hey Just4Kicks,

I get about 450-550 miles out of a tank. Driven carefully my "miles to go" can show 600+

Can anyone beat this on a 1.8 EX!

The picture speaks for itself. This was achieved AFTER the i-SHIFT upgrade.

I get around 400 miles to a tank usually, driving hard. Got 550 miles on a few occasions by driving like an old lady.

It's a balancing act between driving enjoyment and economy. I defy anyone to say that they're enjoying themselves whilst driving and getting over 50mpg!
