Oil Oil warning light

I've had a weird fault with my 2007 CTR since day 1.

On my way home from work (it's a 25 mile journey each way) the oil warning light comes on. Not the low oil, the one with an oil can and a squiggly line (noting some sort of fault).

However, it ONLY comes on during my drive home and ALWAYS about 4 miles into my journey. If I stop and switch off the engine, the dashboard light disappears and doesn't come back that day.

I leave home around 8am and return back about 6pm, so assume the engine is cold on both journeys. Very weird. And the yellow light (like the fuel light) comes on on the dashboard as well!

I'm going to take it to the stealers, but wondered if anyone has any insight.

Sounds like an electrical fault but have you actually checked the oil level in the engine?

Yep the level is fine. If it was low, I thought it would be consistently on, or at least on all the time when engine is cold or hot. Its not the actual oil low light, so perhaps its just a sensor error

I had the same problem with a dealers demo 2007 CTR when I had it over the Christams period. The light came omn for no reason. Took it back to the dealers and they checked the car and said nothing was wrong. As it was not my car I did not pursue it. Not has the same problem with my 08 CTR.

Mine just came on too. I read the manual, and the one with the squiggly line does mean low oil level. The one without the line means low oil pressure.
