shouldn't be any damage at all. thats the point of the limiter, so you dont damage it, just dont go into the wrong gear when downshifting , thats when you got problems

Nothing will happen to your car if you hit the rev limiter. That is the reason of having one.
The only problem with it is that it stops the pleasure...and a high revving honda engine is a joy machine! I always think though that the engine can give more. Last edited by skam; 23rd March 2008 at 11:49. |

Does anyone know at what revs the limiter kicks in in a diesel?
A few days ago I managed to get my engine running at close to 5000 RPM for about 10 seconds (way in the red zone) after accelerating hard in 3rd gear. I didn't notice the limiter activating, so maybe it's above 5000 RPM? |

I think its about 5500 rpm for the diesel. I know i've hit it a few times showing boy races a clean pair of wheels at the lights.

cheers guys for that, lol guess i am just paranoid about damaging my new toy, i guess you could look at it like a new pair of shoes, i am currently untying and tying my laces at the moment, i guess in a few months i will just keep the laces tied all the time
Lol that was almost like a top gear comparison then |

I was always hitting the Rev Limiter in Don-R's EP3 CTR. It wasn't my fault the co. demo I had was virtually new and had only 200 miles on it. Mine took ages to get up near the red line. Don's was broken in by 16,000 miles of hard acceleration and absolutely flew to the redline. |
