Cracked Sump Pan

Hi there, first post!

Swapped my punny Suzuki Swift ddis for the Civic. Impulse decision, was waiting for the Swift to be serviced (new brakes, pads, and tyres...) was conned as I only bought from them (phoenix Suzuki in Paisley) a year previous, and only drive 10 miles a day, thus I had 3 hours to kill in a car showroom whilst in a suzuki hate mood... sat in a used Civic i-cdti... two hours later I was 6 g's poorer (only got 5 for the suzuk, down from 8 in only a year).

Anyway my run of bad luck continues (The swift had it's windows smashed side and front while parked at work, bonnet keyed while at home, and last but not least smashed into at a junction by some idiot who thought a green left turn filter signal meant he could go ahead (my only witness couldn't be bothered), all within one month)

So... I've been very happy with my purchase until last friday, when on the way from work I ran over a rock (placed in the middle of the road by ned's) small enough to clear the bumper but large enough buckle the plate under the engine and crack the Sump Pan (it cant hold the oil in). Couldnt stop in time as the 4x4 in front of me went over it as if it werent there.

So it's £407 for parts and labour at Phoenix Honda in Hyndland Glasgow... I must be in some kind of twilight zone episode because the incident happened on the main road just outside this showroom (just after the round about)... and I live half a mile along the road from there.

I recall a few years back a Taxi driver telling me he was reluctant to drive past the area because neds were throwing rocks at taxis and buses.

Anyway is this price reasonable? should I see a priest... or a witch?

Cheers
