Hey,
I've been doing searches to find out the best oil to have in reserve as I am running in my neew Types GT 2.2. I'm of the feeling our cars do not have a Diesel Particle Filter and so Castrol EDGE 0w-40 is good for us, if so this is great as this is what I brought from Halfords We dont have a DPF do we? Ian |

Hey Matey,
Ah cool, thanks for letting us know. I've been skimming through various topics as I know there is a specific EDGE Diesel version which is cleaner for DPF equipped cars, hence why I was curious with ours as I had not read a definete no as to if the 2.2's have DPF's or not. It's good to know others are using the same oil with no ill effects. I am hoping like your own car that mine will not use any oil either, but I;d rather have some for when I do check so that I can refill if need be. Ian |

Oh yeah most probably, but trying to find that specific post when you need to know quick is sometimes hard to do and I did search extensively. In the end I took the stock EDGE back and brought EDGE Turbo Diesel, no change in price and if I dont need the extra additives then it wont do any harm either. So far my new 2.2 with 380 miles on the clock, is yet to use any oil which makes me very Ian |
