i-shift MPG experiment
Normally, in full auto mode, I get about 39MPG (calculated) but the trip comp shows around 44MPG, been doing that for the last year.
Just for fun* I drove my i-shift totally in manual mode last week. The trip comp showed 45MPG and I actually got 44MPG (calculated). *not really fun 'cos I'm a lazy git |

Hey, congrats...2000 posts!
Anyway, back to the theme.... When I tested mine by filling to the 'cut-off', driving over to relations in Rayleigh and back, re-filling to 'cut-off' (using same pump). I found that dividing fuel by miles travelled it equalled the computer almost exactly. 43mpg. Mind you; that was mostly motorway travel (M1, M25) at a fairly steady 70mph, although we did have a couple of short holdups. |

Oh yes - I'm a guru, I've been called worse
In auto mode it's always about 5 MPG out. I also do over 90% of my weekly mileage on motorways/dual carriageways at about 70mph so that's making no difference to me. |

Hi
I've done 12K miles but that is a red herring in as much as the engine freeing up after any number of miles. I've been keeping a spreadsheet since the car was new. My weekly journey is always the same from West London to Surrey which takes in 2 motorways and 2 dual carriageways with the final bit being a 50mph free flowing A road. Throughout it's life, my MPG has been an indicated 44mpg but spreadsheet calculated to be 39mpg. |

...and I've only done 6000 miles in my EX i-Shift; so it may even get better.
Mind you, I'm not driving an S GT; if I was then I could see my MPG being a bit less!! PS:....and if I were a bit younger!! |
