Faults Stalling on first journey of day

I am new owner of an 07 1.8ES. Absolutely love it, except for one small problem. It totally dies every morning on its first journey of the day as I decelerate into a major junction doing 4 to 2 gear change. Always so far restarts with red button. Has been to dealer twice who can find no fault. Any ideas or others with same fault?

Given where you are, I'd push the bloody thing back into the factory and get them to fix it! Sorry, can't be much more help than that.

If you can reproduce the fault as exactly as this then leave the car with your dealer overnight and arrange to demonstrate the fault to them the following morning.

Once you have shown them the fault the ball is clearly in their court.

It sounds like a dodgy ECU, I had this issue with my Mini and basically there was something wrong with the software and everytime I was pulling away, changing gear and doing about 20 mph it would just cut out like it had stalled but my foot could be right on the clutch etc.

I agree with sluffguy, the best thing to do is take it the garage and leave it with them overnight. Now tell them excatly what the problem is and they are to drive it as every other 'normal' persons drives it. Mines Mini was in three times to find this out due to the fact that the first guy drove it like he stole it, the second guy could feel the stall coming so booted it and the third time the guy was only moving it 300 yards and it cut out just as he got to the garage door to take it for a diagnostics check.

A new ECU upgrade should only take about and hour or so and should hopefully solve your problem.
