After 13000 km on the clock i found the optimum cruizing speed in highways to be 112-114 kmh and in country roads 78-82 km/h with 5th and sometimes 6th but our roads have much uphills and downhills so 6th is not good for our country roads. Combined with a mix driving in the town i am averaging a maximum of 7 l/100 km which is tranformed to 40 mpg. When I drive mostly in highways and country roads I can average about 6.5 to 6.7 l/100 km (42 - 43.5 MPG) All the abouve are with AC always on because of our weather. Propably now that I will use AC less i will achieve better figures.

Basically I don't rev above 3500rpm and that seems to help. I did say that was average and some times I get the same as you.

To be honest cruise on indicated speed of between 72-77mph, judging by everything going flying passed probably between 65-72 in reality.

Keep it below 2000 revs (72 on speedo, 67 true speed) and the car just sips the juice.

IMO 70 (on the speedo) is crawling.

True 70 (76 on my speedo) really knocks (relatively) the economy.

BTW my current economy on this tank of fuel is 62mpg and it is painful resisting the urge!!!

That makes sense then!!! I need your will power (and cruise control to save me from my itchy right foot).

Try it in 6th gear - lol

Give it time - the more you drive the better the engine will become

Should be well run in by now

At 70 mph she it ticking over just above 2k rpm.

Must admit I haven't been using cruise control that much as I'm still running her in
