1.8 EX Dosn't like the cold

Hi all,
I've not heard this mentioned before but i wonder if anyone has had problems on start up in cold weather? Here in Glasgow we had a few frosty mornings about a month ago and the car did a bit of kangarooing and felt like misfiring for the first minute or so before it warmed up?

Maybe its not cold enough yet to know for sure, but i asked the dealer to check it when it goes in on Monday to get the HFT and the petrol cap fixed.

Cheers
Les

I've driven a few times on frosty mornings, and didn't experience any problems at all.

Don't think my 2.2 I-CTDI likes the cold either, at idle she now sits at 1k rpm, wheras it was a bit below during the summer.

To be honest i've only noticed it after start-up, i'll check after i've done a few miles in it see if it makes any difference.

All engines will run faster on choke in cold weather. It should drop to normal idel speed one at running temperature.
If it doesn't, the ecu can be flashed clean to let it learn how you drive again.

Alright, alright, I know fuel injected engines don't use a proper choke valve anymore, but they still need extra fuel and help to get going on a cold morning, so it does a similar thing, but uses magic instead.
I was just trying to get my thought across with my limited vacabulary.... I wont bother in the future!
