Powerflow Exhaust Fitted

Had a Powerflow exhaust fitted last week to my Type S. Sound is brilliant - nice low down burble and really throaty under acceleration . Sounds a bit like an Evo [well maybe not!] Included a few photos to show

£240 @ District Garage, Bolton - original quote was £200 for back box and 2 inch tailpipe tubes, but to get better sound middle box (under driver's door) was removed and replaced with a length of tubing (last pic)

That's why i went to District - they're the local Powerflow dealer, and told them what it had cost you but apparently cost of steel has gone up hence the cost. Looking at size of back box ,think yours is smaller, doesn't cover as much of the heatshield, which will cost less but sound louder. Used to have one like that on my H-RV, and having had a different brand on my Civic Sport, decided Powerflow would be better for new Civic. Also looks like you still have original tailpipes judging by that joint on right side, whereas mine are custom made 2 inch tubes welded to backbox - but i may be wrong?

i think you are right cause they change the middle section like yours. but they welded the original tail pipe to the back box. would it be louder if i weld a 2inc pipe like yours?? or is it better off putting a 2inc all the way throw the car???

Had a look at mine - think it's 2 inch all the way to back box then the original pipes out are 1 inch - the bloke at District said to remove these as will be less restricting and give a little extra power, which it does. Don't think will make much difference to sound changing tailpipes - think the size and type of backbox is main contributor. Had mine for about 10 days now and now its carboned up a bit really starting to roar!!!!!!!!!!

I feel sorry for your neighbours...and your own hearing. The standard 1.8 petrol is noisy enough inside when pushed.

Bet you have a loud stereo too?

I thought the original was too quiet after the custom exhausts i'm used to!
Stereo is standard but already got a few ideas - that's my next mod!

On the picture I saw the damper with Honda logo. The modified damper has a Sachs logo. Is your ca'rs shockabsorber modified or not?

I had a powerflow exhaust fitted on before as well..... but i thought that wasnt "good" enough... so i just had it removed and just fitted on a pipe. so now its just one pipe all the way through from the middle box. it sounds much better now but the noise only comes when i step on the gas... if its just idle then its pretty quiet..i will try to hear your exhaust when i get a chance as im using the uni computers the now and see what the differences are..

and another thing, you said you were gonna do your ice next... where you thinking of changing the head unit??

thanks

Still looking into that - don't really like the replacement fascia seen elsewhere on forum, looks a bit nasty to me. Was going to leave head unit in place - the ice specialist i use suggested a nifty little box that goes behind dash and can be used to wire in amp, upgraded speakers, dvd etc but it cost around £350 with amp, so still deciding what to do. Think next mod may be pakfeifer roof spoiler - only £156 imported from Austria.
