06 Diesel Tuning

Hi All

Had a tuning box on the mrs car now for over a month. Bought brand new off ebay for £95, Cheetah model. Was a dodle to fix, about 10 minutes. Has adjustable fueling for more power / economy.

In standard mode mpg has altered from 47.5 to 52.5, about +10%. Driveability / performance remains the same.

Apparenlty fueling can be altered to give 170bhp / 330 lb/ft touque.

For now I am happy with more mpg, will play with fueling later to see what results are.

Would I do it again, yes I think so.

Dial

By turning a dial on the chip, either anti clockwise or clockwise, the fuel in increase or decreased. Apparently the standard ECU sees this increase and adjusts boost accordingly. Thats how it was explained to me.

Be careful.
Its not a Digital Unit....If you turn it up too high it could overfuel the engine and put the car into 'Limp Mode'

Interesting... I got my economy box from Diesel Tuning UK for considerably more than the £95 you paid but it's a fully digital and adjustable unit. Given me an extra 8mpg on average. 10 minutes to fit too, a lot more convenient than a re-map! Boxes are the way to go!

advertising???????????

i wish i had buyers like you when i was selling the euro rate would not affected my sales if i was selling at those inflated digital prices, also for the thread starter you should gain hp/torque and economy with a good unit,i see i might have to start selling again!

Hi there. I have a 2.2 Diesel CRV EX, 06 plate and was thinking about one of these boxes mentioned here. Do these invalidate the warranty (have about 7 months left) and do we have to inform our insurance company? Bit nervous about fitting one.....

thanks

warranty ?

with any non standard part it invalidates the warranty but you can remove the tuning unit before you put it into honda, some insurers dont both about tuning units as they dont increase top speed and work within standard settings

If you want valid insurance I would say definitely inform your company;expect it to come a price though.
