Other Start up revs

When I start my car from cold it ticks over about 2k revs till its been running for a few mins and then is slowly drops to about 1k not had it in any other car I've driven is this normal?

Im guessing that this function is a way of getting the oil moving round the engine?

Yeah its normal, my old focus done that too

yep, mine sits at about 2k still and its just over a year old.
