ignition noise

Hi Guy's

does anyone of you ever heard a strange noise like (creaking , sort of some electric fuse) coming from the drive side of dashbroad.

it only happens at times not always and it's varying on conditions e.g. it can come when i first start the car in the morning or it can even happen during a day time.

i just want to know if it's normal or not. any help would be great

Haven't heard anything like that coming from my dashboard.

Might be useful if you told us where you live, so we'll know which side is the driver's side for you.

Hello,

Same for me, never heard something during ignition, Also could you tell us what is your engine ? Could it be in the fuse box?

Never heard something creacking, but sometimes I have something ticking....
Appeared to be the whipers... Only noticed it in traffic jam with rain, very strange..

Lomaree, is it a "clicking" noise coming from just above the radio? Also, I didn't know that they were selling the Euro Civic where you live - I assumed that it would be the US model. Or is it the US model?

hi copycat,

As for the driver side, it's a left hand drive and i live in Doha - Qatar.

I believe it's coming from the fuse box which is inside the hood (left) but again it could be inside as both fuse boxes are on the same side (left). I have'nt been able to pin point it yet as i tried 3 , 4 times by opening the hood and starting the car at morning but fatefully it didn't make any noise . , so i thought i should ask before doing anything else cuz maybe it's normal.

Is it ticking/clicking or more creacking?
Try to listen again with your whipers on in interval mode... In my car it is a relay I think that is clicking each time the whiper is moving...

Uh-huh! Pottsy must've checked your IP address and it was pointing in the wrong direction. Presumably because you work in one of these places.
Then again, I might be completely wrong here.

And back on topic. No, haven't heard any strange noises from that general direction. Maybe you should take it back to the dealer.

Copycat - I did see Qatar, but just thought that they'd sell the US model there.

Likewise, I've not had any clicking from under the bonnet, so it's either a dealer job, or a not worry about it until something doesn't work job.

Oops. Well, there you have it.

Maybe they get the European 4-door model.
