PS v's BHP
In the Civic brochure specs, it quotes for the diesel 140 PS @ 4000 rpm. Is this at the wheel or at the flywheel? If its at the wheel what would the flywheel PS be? If its at the flywheel what would the wheel PS be?
What is 140 PS in BHP? |

It definately is at the flywheel, as 323GT-R says
However.... Of the 2 diesel Civics on here which have actually got as far as a dyno run, lets just say that Honda were a bit conservative with their figures We don't know yet if this was to down-play any power advantage of the diesel over the petrol (which is also quoted at 140PS), of if they have both been under rated Check out the 'more oomph for your 2.2' thread in this section for the dyno graphs |

Much better than the old days when the power output quoted was just a wildly exaggerated version of an optimistic guess! |
