Remap celtic tuning file only problem

Hello Everyone.
I am experiencing a problem with my Type S 2.2. It is a MY09 model. I brought the gelleto 1260 tool of ebay and I have purchased a file only re-map from Celtic Tuning. I also have a Samsung NC10 Netbook, which seems to be the same as the one used to re-map on You-Tube. I downloaded the map off my car no problem, sent to the Celtic to be modified, but everytime I go to put it on the car, it clears the ECU and when it goes to write, it Errors. Been back on to Celtic, they have modified the map 3x now, and taken out all security, and even tried zipping the file, but still the same problem. They say now, it may be the computer, but I am not so sure, cause I have put my standard map back on 4 times now. Has anyone had a similar problem?

Hi,

Check you have mains power to the laptop. Sometimes these USB ports voltages drop in battery power saving mode.

Worth a quick go anyhow.

(Let me know how u get on with the remap cos I'm on the verge of doing exactly the same with Galetto / Celtic remap)

Hi,

i had the same problem, however the 3rd time they fixed it.
Had to do something with checksums.
Tony from Celtic helped me out with this.

I have the map file only from Celtic. It sounds to me as if there is a problem with the map from Celtic if it will still write your original. It may be that they have given you the wrong one as there are a few different firmware versions for the different model years. You can tell by connecting the galletto up and press 'ecu data' and it will give you your cars firmware i think its about 12 digits long then email this to Celtic and ask them to check they are sending you the right one.

NC10 should be fine its what i used (i didnt need to connect to mains just works off the laptop battery)

This one was an issue with ID tags which is not the same issue arrising on this occasion.

If we gave the wrong hardware variant the car would no longer recover the original file and I assure you we have never given anyone the wrong software variant.

If you put the wrong variant on the car, the car will have the problem as described by Andy, then you simply put the original map back on and it will work.
