Clutch / Flywheel warranty replacement

So, after taking advise from civinfo and mates I decided to book my car (Civic 07 Type S 1.8 GT SAT) into Horizon Honda for a clutch/flywheel replacement. The car went in on 29/03/2010. I was told by the garage that if the damage was not covered by warranty I would be liable to pay for the replacement and labour. Over £1000!!!!

I got the dreaded phonecall today and to my unbelievable joy it was covered by warranty. Saved me spending out alot of money, epsecially seeing as I only turned 20 a few months ago. Just got to get used to this new clutch feel. Pulls off a lot quicker and feels so much lighter.

Really need to recommend the Horizon Poole garage. Fast and friendly assistance.

I think there are a lot of successful clutch replacement claims (I got mines in the last fn2 replaced) as Honda know how weak the clutches are!

Didn't know the 1.8's were prone to clutch problems

My FN2 is booked in for it's second clutch and flywheel replacement in the space of a couple of months. My symptons are a strange vibration noise when pulling away when engine is cold. The colder the worse the noise.

They replaced clutch and flywheel a couple of months ago and the problem is back, so they're doing it again in a couple of weeks.

Not impressed at all, but at least it's a warranty claim.

Well I've only had my FN2 6 weeks (car is 3 years old), the dealer said it was caused by driver abuse. Luckily cause I emailed them within four days of having the car they agreed the issue was there when they sold the car to me thus why Honda paid the bill. Thank god I emailed them! If mine goes again Ill get a third party clutch and flywheel as clearly something isn't right with the standard ones.

Modified clutch/flywheel from Honda

My CTR is currently in getting a warranty replacement clutch/flywheel and they have advised me that there is now a modified (hopefully fixed) combo and that my car will be the first in the UK to get this installed.

If anyone now experiences this issue at all, give Honda a shout and tell them you want the new fixed combo installed or this problem will just keep coming back

Theres one other in Coventry, we have been waiting for revised clutch/flywheel to be released. I will go to my main dealers today to see if it is now available.
