Did they not look at what the list of faults were?

Has mpg improved since?

What were the faults that they fixed/reset?

Only averaging about 38mpg but it's a on my first tankful. Hopefully it will improve once the engine loosens up.

I still average around 37mpg on the computer but pretty short stop/start journeys most days at the mo. So far covered 2200 miles.

Did get about 43mpg at about 1000 miles on a journey of 300 miles on A40/M40/M25/M11...

This isn't just Honda, but time and time again dealers reset the check engine light and send the customer on their way. At the very least they should provide a diagnostic printout.

Was there any noticable drop in performance or otherwise after the light activated?

Have done 2250 miles in mine and averaged 43 mpg, not as much as the Focus which did over 50 mpg regularly, but it is a much bigger engine and I am not complaining because the quality of the car is far greater than the Focus Ghia 1.8 that I had previously

My diesel is averaging 43mpg over the 2000 miles it has done in the last 6 weeks, on this tank it's doing 47 average and early on this tank it did 53mpg.on a 55 mile trip on country roads.

Very happy as the Accord Type V it relaced was doing 21 ~ 25mpg

the engine light will come on for numerous reasons...if your still concerned about the problem or reason behind, go back to the dealer and ask them what was 'reset'...

did you have any work carried out there?

47.8 at the moment and now done 8700 miles, seems to be getting better as was only around 45 when I first got the car. Don't hang about on the raods either!

You need the odd squirt of boost to keep you going through the day!!!

Did 130 mile trip to Yorkshire on Friday night and got 51.5 miles to the gallon, had cruise set to 78 most of the way. Coming back was a bit faster and hence the mpg on this tank is now down to 47.3, pretty good I'd say.

Only have a 4 mile commute to work so generally struggle to get 40mpg on a day to day basis which is still excellent all things considered (especially a heavy right foot!).

1500 miles and only averaging about 40mpg, plus only about 380 miles from a tank of fuel

I notice some of you are getting 100 miles more from yr tanks and a far better average mpg. Where am I going wrong???

Did the same 130 mile trip at the weekend and got over 52mpg. The reurn trip brought it down to 48.9 and I wasn't hanging about so well chuffed with it. With the daily commutes now back, looks like I'll get around 400 miles off the tank. The short trips really do eat the fuel!

I agree the short trips mess up the MPG figures, as does cruising at high speeds (I tend to go about 80/85mph on motorways which puts the indicated MPG in the low 40's).
I have also tried Esso instead of Tesco, and it does seem that I get 2 to 3MPG more from the Esso fuel.
My journeys are varied, so true comparison is not very easy.

I got 427 miles out of my last tankful and only squeezed in about 38 litres of fuel, so there was quite a bit left. The computer was showing about 49.5mpg but when I calculated it myself it was actually 51, which I'm very pleased about - especially as I've got less than 1,500 miles on the clock so it could well improve further!

Mind you, having said that, my trip to work is 18 miles along a single-carriageway A-road, so I spend most of my time stuck behind lorries doing 40-50mph, with an occasional burst of speed when I get the opportunity to overtake, so that's probably got a lot to do with it. I've yet to do a long motorway journey so that would probably knock it down a bit.

I've averaged 44.4 MPG (according to the trip computer) over the 900 miles i've owned the car. 1st tank (ESSO) I got about 42 and 2nd (Tesco) is on about 46.5 so far. Odd that Tesco has given better MPG but it could also be the warmer weather recently and the engine loosening up a little. 3rd tank will be BP Ultimate to give that a go!

Not bad considering that my journey in the morning consists of queueing in traffic to get to the M25, a short blast up the slip road (sometimes I even get into 3rd gear!) and then more queueing on the M25.

Return journey is much better though which brings the MPG up a bit and when I'm out and about at the weekends on the A-roads the economy is much better too.
