0w30 is perfect for the 2.2. Not so sure about the R though...

Isn't 0W the "cold" viscosity rating?

Quite right - the "w" means 'Winter' - i.e. when engine is very cold ...

The latter number (with no letter after it) is when HOT ...

I use 10W-60 fully synthetic

W-winter, it is the relationship to winter temperatures and viscosity, when the oil still effectively erases.
SAE 0W up to -35 oC
SAE 5W up to -30 oC
SAE 10W up to -25 oC

Next number is kinematic viscosity at 100 oC, according this kinematic viscosity oils are classified as 20,30,40,50,60.

For example, oil 5W-50 has good viscosity at - 30oC and is suitable for higher heat-stressed engines also.

0w 30 is what is recommended to use in your engine on the fn2. I use castrol 0w 30 in mine.

I would find out what is currently in your engine as Honda have moved through a few different ones as their 'standard'. For example mine was always run on 0w30 but a few weeks back at it's service they refilled it with 5w30...
