Transmission Automatic Civic

Hey there guys, I'm new to this forum and came across it because I was interested in the Honda Civic since I just recently bought one, or should I say my parents got me it. I live in Australia and we don't have the hatchback versions that you guys have, the one I got is more a sedan looking one, I will post pictures of it once I get it in the forums gallery (should be arriving in about 6 weeks

Anyways they decided that automatic would be better however I preferred a manual car. I was wondering whether it makes much difference at all because thats all I seem to think about when I think about the car, is there anything which I can't do because it is a manual transmission? Like for example if I wanted to mod up my car or something.

Welcome to the Forum Chris, you've got to be the furthest away member we have, although there are one or two who seem to be on a different planet.

I guess the only risk is that you put too much power through the autobox, but that would go for a manual too. I guess if you are looking at a few horses here or there you might be okay, but if you start to massively increase torque or hp then you might have to look to uprated gearboxes, I am sure they must exist, although can't say for certain.
