Hand has been forced

My clutch first started slipping about a year ago this only happened occasionally, then it then seemed to stop for months.

Now its back with a vengeance and before it only slipped in 6th now its slipping in 4th and 5th so unfortunately I am going to have to book in at CG . This also means I am going to have to remap my car otherwise i would be a very sad man. I would preferably get a custom map (RS tuning)but my pennies wont stretch that far so.

1.Do CG do celtic maps?
2. which map available has the most linear curve and holds peak power the longest?

You will want the celtic stage 2 to go with that then unfortunately
Sad times

Premier/elite have their stage 2 egr delete which isnt as quick on acceleration AFAIK but doesnt tax the clutch and turbo as much either.
It also deletes the EGR so anythin other than full throttle driving or sub 0c temps will make a noticable difference.
Neither are slow.

TDI have their map which destroy all at low rpm and will tax the clutch the most.
Runs out of breath though unless you have a custom one done.
They do have teething issues with some software versions though.
They are new to diesel tuning.

Not sure I agree entirely with Relic's assessment there, but any differences you are talking about when you get to over 190bhp figures are tiny anyway, and once you go from stock to tune, you are looking at a 50bhp+ gain whichver tuner you go with.

We can also custom tune your car in Leeds, but what is there to 'customise' if the car is stock?

We can offer Stage 1 @ 180bhp/285lbft (peak)

Stage 2 @ 192bhp/325lbft (peak) - although some dynos have recorded it now over 350lbft peak.

And AFAIK we are still the only tuner that can offer an EGR OFF solution on these cars.

Drop me a line for prices, we're not far from CG.

I will definitely be considering your maps (stage 2). is the EGR off different again, and what are the benefits.

Perhaps I can comment.........

Whilst Elites stage 2 is a peach of a map, bringing in the power in a smooth / controlled way without over spooling the turbo, the ERG delete is worthy of taking a bow all by itself!

What it gives is unheard of part throttle response transforming your reactions when hitting the pedal. (which in real world driving is most of the time!)

Additional benefits are the engine gives further improvements to MPG and power as the inlet intake cleans up breathing clean air.

Anyone got graphs of the power curves for different maps? I'll be looking for one later this year/next (when the insurance companies see I'm no longer young and/or stupid) with a much smoother power delivery. At the moment the torque whack at 2000 rpm is slightly annoying.
