I believe the point Ross is making, and correct me if im wrong Ross, is that in conjunction with a better scoop this is a very very cost effective way of improving air flow, this effectively negates the need for people to purchase another airbox as the smoothed oem could be used with a different scoop and produce around the same results!

Dave is spot on. The only reason I never went into the detail of the scoop is because I never started this thread to discuss whether a smoothed out air box was better than an oem, I started it to offer my services as I have smoothed my own out.

I have a driven crazy scoopin with mine and it is definitely better than te standard set up

Yeh the driven crazy scoopin should work fine as there is still plenty air getting in behind the bumper. Your other option would be to go with the tegiwa fog inserts

Very good point - you could probably make a DIY mugen CAI out of the oem one. Would like to see your version vs the official ones. Resonator box must sap power?

I feel with mine the throttle response is a lot sharper and it feels like it accelerates a bit harder but that might just be in my head.

Do you have a spare air box or would you require the swap?
