BG244 trial results

Hi all, just thought i'd give you my thoughts on BG 244. 1st of all i'll just say that while trying to keep an open un biased opinion on it, i've never really been a fan of these types of products. Still, going on the reviews on this forum, I thought I'd give it a try. After all I value opinions shared by fellow forum members.
Ideal chance to try it out was on a round trip to Llandudno. So lets start with the best milage every achieved from new. this was 59.9mpg within the first year of ownership on a run out to Mablethorpe traveling at 50-56 mph most of the way and driving like a nun. Non of your "my car's done 150mpg honest guv". 59.9 mpg is the best I ever have had and from that point on never managed to get any where near that result. Despite numerous identical runs to Mablethorpe. The best subsequent results varied around the 54-52-49mpg mark, but admittedly driving with a more realistic style of acceleration. Still all in all the average Mpg has been in decline and the Civic is now 5 years old and does more short journeys than I'd like to admit to.

Time for BG244 I thought... will it make any difference?

Well... on the run down to Llandudno traveling at Motorway max speeds for the majority of the run I got an amazing 58mpg. Which, although not the best result ever, considering the much higher speed and normal acceleration usage,.... I think that's what you call a result. So that would be a thumbs up from me for BG244

I too tried to keep an open mind despite my skepticism. My 07 plate with 44k miles usually does 51-53 MPG on my 65 mile round trip to work each day. After running a can of BG244 through a tank full of diesel it now seems to routinely return 55 MPG. My route is lots windy, hilly country lanes through villages so I seldom get above 50mph - not sure what my motorway MPG might be. I'm sure the engine seems quieter now as well (but perhaps that's my imagination?)

Strange thing though... now on my 1st full tank of diesel without any BG244 in and the fuel consumption seems to have gone back to before. Just done the Mablethorpe run and only got 48mpg. Mind you I definately wasn't hanging about if you know what i mean. Although I must say the engine seems much more responsive. But, like you, is it just my imagination??? somehow I believe the answer to that last question is... No! it's not my imagination.

It's not a placebo, the active ingredients in BG244 really do work. It's not cheap, but if you chuck a can in with every service, just think of it as preventative maintenance.
