1.4 Se

Hi!

I have just purchased a nice shiny, black 1.4 SE Civic, so chuffed, I have been wanting one for like EVER!! I pick it up on Thursday. The thing is, after reading some posts on this here forum, I am confused as to whether this is going to have the triangle exhausts! Can anyone confirm this?

Hi Penelope, and welcome

The 1.4 has an obvious place where the triangles would be on the 1.8 and 2.2, but rather than having the chrome edging and an exhaust pipe in the hole, it simply has blanking plates (in the same colour as the rest of the bumper).

If you're really after the same look as the bigger engines, it is possible to order a kit which replaces the blanking plates with the chrome edges - it's about £80 from memory, and your dealer will probably deny it exists

Check out the dealer section in here and I'm sure one of them would be able to sort you out if you do decide to go down that route

Congratulations on your new car! The 1.4 has a fine engine. In my Jazz it was sooooooo quiet at idle that I almost used to forget it was switched on!

Just follow TT's advice though. Cosmetically, the exhaust trim upgrade is well-worth it!

This is the blanking plates on the 1.4. Thanks to c0smic for the photo.

I've got a 1.4 and STILL haven't warrented the cost of the silver exhaust trims; but they do make the car look A LOT nicer, Transalp has them! (The following *IS* a 1.4)

Welcome Penelope!

Triangle trim is a dealer fit option on the 1,4.
Can be fitted later also.

Thanks all for your help!!

Turns out my dealer wants £270 to have them fitted! He's going to see what he can do on the price.

I might wait a few weeks, see how I feel.

Its sooooo exciting!!!

The kits are £100 retail...so the dealer wants £170 for fitting?? *scoff*
I might get the kit and fit it myself soon.
