FN2 Type-R clutch woes

Hi guys,

I have a 52k mile Type-R (1 lady owner before me - according to the V5). During the last healthcheck (car has extended warranty) dealer mentioned clutch point a bit high - indicating clutch might be wearing - what's the "usual" lifespan of the CTR clutches?
Also, since I am not keen leaving 600+ squid at the dealer for the job - will doing the clutch at an indy void my warranty?

yep - extended warranty as I bought the car from a dealer this January. It already came in handy when they replaced a bump stop which apparently would be charged as a 5hr job

I would expect to get more than 50k out of a clutch on a CTR but you never know what the one lady owner was like

I wouldnt change it till I started having problems personally

Eco display
Surely you should be able to adjust the bite point without replacing the clutch?!

Hmmm... that's what I thought about the bite point. - As for clutch history I drive it rather gently, the odd overtaking VTEC action but not burnouts and fast starts - it's not slipping not that I can tell anyway. Perhaps it's the dealers way of trying to make some bucks ;D

what's the average clutch life on those ? assuming "normal" type-r owner driving

Can't speak about all dealers but the ones i've dealt with are always in it to make a buck out of you
"arnold clark" for instance will always tell you that something is wrong with it. In my own experience anyway. As the man said drive it until you know its on its way out and if you do i bet that clutch will still be going this time next year.

My clutch is going I think, mine has trouble selecting gears, :/ Interested to keep note on the prices as I'm thinking of the Japspeed clutch, but equally interested in others

Honda have a fixed price on clutches £565 fitted Honda Spares & Repairs | Cars | Owners | Honda (UK)
I booked mine in last yr and my dealer wanted over £900 for a clutch replacement when I questioned this price and informed them of what honda uk said it should be they said they will look into, I received a phone call saying they had looked into it and because mine is a type r it's automatically more expensive, load of **** they knew they were trying it on
