I didn't see you mention any mods in your original post.

The guys are absolutely right, remove the chip/box rubbish and see if it cures the problem.

We tune these cars regularly, drop me a line for pricing if you are interested.

Better still, drop Celtic Tuning a line. We get a group discount on Civinfo and they are highly recommended.

Tuning | Engine Tuning | ECU Remaps | Celtic Tuning

All the best,

Hi mate my old diesel used to do the same it used to bog down.it was the EGR valve. What I did was either put it in neutral and floor it n hoped the revs picked up. Or leave it runnin unplug the egr valve again floor it n if it works plug back in.
Plus don't bolt on silly eBay +3000bhp resistors. Just no.

If it doesn't, make sure that if the fuel filter has recently been changed, a Genuine Honda one has been fitted. That means one from a Honda dealer, not a supposedly Honda approved one from elsewhere. I had a problem with my 2.2 when a non OEM filter was fitted - when I gave it some beans in low gears, it sometimes felt like you'd hit the brake pedal. No fault codes were displayed, but it felt like sudden fuel starvation to me. Problem has gone since a genuine filter was fitted

if you do get it mapped just put a side £900, ready for when the clutch starts slipping.big money on these cars when you start playing for more power.
