9th gen map in 8th gen?

Do you think it would be possible to do this and gain the more economy while still driving in the better 8th gen?

I think the 1.8 uses the same R18A2 engine.

Do they use the same ECU though?
I know the 9G ECUs were locked as someone on here took one to Celtic for a remap but they couldn't do it.

Only change i can think of on the 1.8 is the eco button, stop start, Hill assist.
Not sure about the 2.2

2.2 runs Bosch diesel ECU's, 1.8 petrol uses a japanese ecu. We can tune them both.

Well, the 9th gen has 2 more horses, too! How economic is it compare to the 8th gen?

Can get 6.1l/100km combined when the 8th got about 7l/100km combined.
