Performance Modifications?

Now i've noticed in a previous post that there is now a superchip for the diesel version, but what about us 1.8 petrol owners

Does anyone know of anything that we can do to improve the performance of our models, in particular the 1.8 i-shift

I haven't got my car yet (on order till October!) but when i test drove it, i felt the gear changes weren't particularly responsive and the performance wasn't overly impressive. Admittedly i've been a bit spoilt having a 350z to drive but I would like to try and get the performance of the civic improved if possible. Well, I know its possible because that engine can definitly do a lot more but how would I go about getting it done

in my experience the i-shift loosens up a bit after the first 500-1000 miles. also you learn how to treat it properly. wait till you get the car then go for the performance mods, i thought id be lacking power too. as soon as i first put the peddle to the floor my view changed very quickly

Yeah, The 1.8 V-Tech is great. When I have my parents or my father in law in the car it drives nice and smooth....very refined. But when you get to put your foot down it just takes off. I Appreciate the mid range acceleration in the diesel and the fuel economy is a big plus but between car tax (€484 for the 1.8 or €722 for the diesel) and the extra cost to actually buy it (!!!) I went for the petrol.
...also, it seems the 2.2 diesel still isn't available in Ireland for some reason?!?!?

ads,

There's not much that can be easily done on a non-turbo engine, so I'd just settle for the performance that the 1.8 offers as standard. I too have come from a Z, nice car!
