Paddles are fantastic. The stick comes in handy if you're halfway round a tight turn and need to change.

I must confess, I didn't really use the paddles that much whilst test driving so for the time being I'm going for the good ole stick.

BUT...I pick up my new one on Sep. 1st - plenty of time to try them out then!!!

Can' decide between the two, and now we have sold our I-shift. Will have to wait for another one now. Did take a gentleman in his sixties out in one ages ago. Showed him the full gen whilst I was driving. Loved it when he told me to give it some beans. Thats the sort of client I like

I would have gone for the I-Shift paddles, but I also wanted the glass roof and them bright headlights. And those only come with the EX, which doesn't have I-Shift. Oh well.

UK one does. I wanted a glass roof but was told I would have to wait till December so dropped that option. But will have an EX i-Shift, in a week or so

I-shift

Had to have the diesel so not a choice.

Also seems to kill the 0-62mph time

i-Shift order of personal preference:-

1st choice = sequential via gearstick
2nd choice = sequential via steering wheel paddles
3rd choice = Auto.

Anyone know if the quoted 0-62 time is in A mode or M mode ?? In M mode the box seems to shift pretty quicky (except between 1st and 2nd) so can't see where the extra 2secs would be coming from.

I know this is an old poll and I don't want to be accused of 'post whoring'

but now I have had my car for a bit I would comment...

I seem to be heading for the Stick over the paddles and I really thought it would be the other way round!

Don't get me wrong I do use the paddles but when I am driving a bit 'hard' I like the stick

In the TT (don't know if it's the same in the Civ?) to use the stick, you first had to move it to the right.

I used to down shift with paddle, up shift with stick (dunno why, it just felt right )

But if I forgot to move the stick right first, shifting up (forward) put it into Neutral...

Nope you just push it/pull it Pushing it to the side flips between Auto/Manual modes but them pops back to the middle plus if you just pull it in auto mode it drops a gear and is then in manual mode. Works really well!

I do like the way the DSG pops back into auto mode with you stop\forget to change The i-Shift changes down but stays in auto mode. I wonder if there is a hack
