My 1.8 has started to stutter lately at approx 2000 rpm and almost stalling when stopping (revs drop to about 500rpm then quickly recovers)
Funny thing is, I got a call from my dealer yesterday to fit a new power steering module (on back order from my 1st service before xmas) and I told them about this and the lady said it's a known issue and they would be changing the EGR unit at the same time. They never mentioned it during the service though |

How do we find out if our cars are affected by any of this?
My car is Feb 2007 reg, but the dealer had it as a Demo until I bought it in December so surely they would have fixed this before I got it? No? |

I guess if the car is not getting suddenly "asthmatic" there is no problem, dealer says he hasn't heard of an EGR replacement on a Civic yet and the valve is different to the other models' (I wonder how though if the engine is the same?) - my wife gets hers replaced in 2 days time but that's on a Citroen

you should find out if you go on the honda website and there is a form you can fill out with your car details and it lets you know if your car has any outstanding recalls.

It only says on the site:
Recall necessary - or words to that effect: Doesn't actually tell you what needs doing. Tom |
