Rolling Road Results

I had my car on the rollers today @ Awesome GTi in Manchester.
I'm not aware of a 'standard' car being tested as such, just remapped ones.
(Please correct me if I'm wrong)

Here are the results of the three runs:

Run 1 = @wheels - 125.90 bhp @clutch/flywheel - 136.17 bhp = 269.65 max torque

Run 2 = @wheels - 126.22 @clutch/flywheel - 133.76 bhp and 272.95 max torque

Run 3 = @wheels - 128.17 @clutch/flywheel - 138.10 bhp and 270.61 max torque

Average: 136.01 bhp and 271.07 max torque

Honda Max Torque quote: 251 ft/lbs

FWH: Seems standard from the results.

So now you're going to 'chip' it to show the improvement it makes???

Rated at 140 on the flywheel as standard - 136 is good on the wheels!

Not first claim of the 2.2 being powered beyond spec.

Never having been to a rolling road myself I presumed that it only measured wheel power and torque.

How is the flywheel power calculated from the test result data?

FWH - it calculates it on the slowdown part of the graph.
From this it can (cleverly, somehow) work out what the power loss is due to transmission drag.

no idea how - just know that's what it does

@ robbo - nice one sir!

@both - interestingly, when I had my standard engine done, the transmission losses cam to about 20bhp, not the 10 bhp awesome's did.

My max bhp @ wheels was about 128 too...

dug out 323GT-R's stock results

interestingly they are showing less power at the wheels than yours, but more losses, giving bigger corrected numbers...

which is why, I guess, it's best to get a 'before' and 'after' from the same dyno whenever carrying out any work

when I had mine done it definately didn't - you could watch the power graph line going up with the revs, then a flat(ish) line along the bottom on the coast down, then it calc'd a 'power at flywheel' line afterwards

Indeed - they just make a good, semi-measured guess. Wheel horsepower off the same rolling road is the only good comparison. And even then this is not representative of real power on the road - for example a diesel with an intercooler will make more power when travelling at speed than it will on the rollers.

The torque figures are better than Honda say anyway!!
