This thread is about: CTR engine idle speed from cold, it's in Engines and Transmission at the Honda Civic forum Civinfo; have always used shell V-power since getting the car in June maybe it is the dbw... suppose al have to ask the dealer...

I went to put V-Power in the CTR the other night, drove round every one in Edinburgh and none of them stock it anymore! There is no rhyme or reason for this. But I think it may have something to do with the fact they were charging 15p more than the standard unleaded all of a sudden a few months back

Yes its more expensive than the regular stuff, I'm paying £1.08p per litre in Watford, but it costs £1.11pm 20 miles away in North London where I live.

With the flat spots and holdiing back, I would nt bother with the dealer, its seems that all cars are sometimes doing it. Dont forget the CTRs are a highly tuned engine and not really designed for the cold, they were most probably tuned to run at there best when the engine is warm. My previous car was a deisel and that run better in the cold and was sluggish when it was hot!
