Hi everyone

I am very new to all this car modification and I have some questions, probably some you may consider to be a little stupid but I am going to pick up my new Type S GT tomorrow in NHB and I would really appreciate some advice.

Hi everyone

I am very new to all this car modification and I have some questions, probably some you may consider to be a little stupid but I am going to pick up my new Type S GT tomorrow in NHB and I would really appreciate some advice.

1. Everyone has been talking about a splitter, what exactly is this? My understanding is that this is the lower part of the front bumper I am assuming colour coded? Does it differ much from what comes standard on the car apart from the colouring and what sort of price should I expect to pay?

2. I enquired at the dealership to have the car completely colour coded all the back plastic around the wheel arches bumpers etc. They gave me x2 quotes that seemed rather expensive; the first, was to have the parts sanded down to a smooth finish and then coloured this came in at around £1500. The second was to have the parts spraded as they are on the car this was about £800 but they said this would not be a smooth finish. Please can anyone advise me, how does this sound, they're reasoning was that the painting was expensive as it is pearl paint????? I see that other people have had this sort of work done what type of paint was used, is it smooth, how much does it cost? Does anyone have any recommendations for where I could get this done, I'm willing to travel for a good job?

If anyone has any pics of where they have colour coded a type S (GT) I would love to see some?

3. I was considering tinting the windows, I don't want any trouble with the law so just the rear windows and the back. If anyone has any pictures of what it looks like on in NHB I would love to see some as everything that I've seen so far doesn't look that good to me but I am very much up to suggestion.

Do any of the above things impact on my warranty?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, after coming back from holiday and also over the past few days during heavy rain I was driving along and heard what sonded like water gushing around in the car underneath. On closer inspection I noticed it was from water inside the doors - front passanger and rear off-side! On shaking the doors you can hear quite alot sloshing around in there!! When the doors are opened though the water slowly trickles out through rubber drainage holes which seem to get sealed when the door closes against the bodywork!

Why is this water collecting in the doors like this? It just seems that any heavy rainstorm causes this to happen - its not right surely???

I remember seeing an item about someone who bought a car and it turned out to be a cut and shut. He contacted the police and the police seized it as it was stolen. This left the chap with no car, and with the seller uncontactable, no money either.

SO, if you do suspect your car is a cut and shut, either make sure you've bought it off someone you know and can trace afterwards to get a refund or if not, don't call the police!

After the suggestions of a ring trip, some members have suggested (and quite rightly so) that we do it one step at a time. So, UK trackday first :)

I was looking at doing a track day at North Wield Airport with the guys at Honda on Track, after being recommended by a mate.

It's on the 17th October (a Friday I believe), and I thought it might be a good introduction to trackdays for those that have never been before.

I believe it is fairly reasonably priced, at £37, with the day expected to run from 9 till around 4 pm.

What are people's thoughts?
