Hondata/warranty

I have just had my 3rd gear syncro, new starter motor and a knock sensor done at the dealers under warranty.
Whist I was there I asked " IF" i had one of those Hondata ECU's would the parts have been changed under the warranty, they said without dought "NO" warranty invalidated....! glad I removed mine

Be careful !

I wonder how many people have had the same work done on their car as you have just had on yours - just a thought

Too right.

Known fact Hondata ECU screws 3rd gear syncro's, causes windscreens to rattle, rust to appear under doors and exhausts to knock.

It's rubbish. Your warrantee is only void if they can connect any mod you have fitted that is not OEM to any part you may have warantee issue with.

For example fitting an intake does not automatically make any claim against suspension, exhaust, interior ............. etc etc etc void.
Unless they are complete arses!

They actually won't even know it is fitted unless you tell them as they don't normally connect a computer and even then as it is a reflashed stock ecu it will give them all the right information anyway.

Terry H, how did you explain the immobiliser you had fitted, assuming you have fitted an immobiliser to compensate for the Hondata knocking out the OEM one?

What do mean get away lol?

They can only not honor warranty claims if they prove your after market part contributes to the failure of the defective part.

I had all my mods on last time I went in, but I only had a new window seal, and rear suspension mounting bolts re-torqued.
