Flashpro Help. Already locked?

Hi guys

Bought a 2nd hand flashpro and it arrived today.

Does this mean the seller hasn't unlocked from his car properly?

***, waited ages for one to come up on the forum. Eventually bought through Facebook group and now 2 have come up on the forum!

Yes, it's locked to the previous owner's car from the looks of it and is unfortunately a paperweight until it's unlocked

Just hope he's not sold the car for his sake, paypal will have you covered.

Believe it has to be hooked up to his ECU so make sure you send it back recorded delivery!

I'm sure its a genuine mistake on the part of the seller and best to give them the benefit of the doubt and contact them first.

just contact the seller, even if he has sold the car he must have the details who he has sold the car too, i just hope you haven't paid him as gift via pay pal, more than likely it must be a genuine mistake, and you will get it sorted

Oh my days. I was sure it was a genuine mistake too.. Maybe not now

Seller has removed his original listing through the Facebook group and is now saying he had never stated it was unlocked (I have our chat logs where he confirms Flashpro is unlocked)

When I questioned him about this he said "Oh well I have never used it"

Luckily i paid extra for PayPal fees and I have opened a dispute but he is still refusing to accept it saying "sold as seen" and "go to hondata for technical help"

Shall I send the item straight back or wait for the PayPal dispute to go through first??

First, and possibly the last time I buy through the Facebook group

****ing scrote

03/2017 08:22 GMT - Seller: The item being disputed was sold as seen, the item works as it should.keeps complaining about the item being unlocks as I was led to believe.I have advised raje to speak to the company as I know they can unlock the device for him with a code.as this item was sold as seen over facebook and the person buying it was happy with this at the time of the sale I am not willing to accept the refund.Kind RegardsGreg Walker
15/03/2017 08:13 GMT - Seller: I do understand your frustration, the item was sold as seen.if you have any issues hondata can personally support you to unlock your flashpro
15/03/2017 08:09 GMT - Buyer: I don't think you understand my point. You cannot unlock the Flashpro without the CAR it is currently locked to. I have my own car which I can't flash because the Flashpro Unit you sold to me as UNLOCKED is locked to another car
15/03/2017 08:00 GMT - Seller: As I stated the item was sold as seen, as I have personally never used this I cannot support any Issues. As stated previously if you have any technical issues please contact Hondata and they can support you to unlock the hondata as it states on the help forum

Mate if he's being funny don't send nothing back, as he can say he never got it back even if you send it recorded and tracked, let pay pal deal with it, open a dispute, open up a dispute and take it from there and communicate via PayPal,

As jacxkhan says, don't send the flashpro back. Open a dispute and conduct all contact via PayPal.

I'm assuming its not locked to his car or a car he owned otherwise he would be more helpful.

As above, follow the paypal dispute route as item not as described. Paypal side with the buyer 95% of the time unless recorded delivery was not used to return the item.

If he's pulled the ad he has no leg to stand on to prove the item was sold as seen.
Also name and shame on the FB page as this tends to get people's butts in gear when the whole page comes down hard on them.

Hondata do unlock them but they charge silly money which negates buying the FP in the first place as it's cheaper to just buy a new one....

EDIT: Seems as of 2014 they still refuse to unlock them unless the ECU is also present that the FP was locked too so saying they will supply you a simple code seems BS.

Is the seller saying they have personally never used it? Then they obviously bought it locked from a previous owner. Why would they buy it and not use it?

They bought a paperweight, realised, BS'd and sold it on.
Or locked it and can't be bothered to simply unlock.

I'm calling the former.

Surely there must be a way of getting a reg number from a VIN? Perhaps someone on here owns the car it's locked to? Longshot, I know.

Cheers bud. Yeah I'll name and shame him when I get round to it, I'm at work all day then have gym after so just finding the right time.

First he said he will only sort refund out when he receives the item back. Then he said he refuses to accept a return as it was sold as seen. He has deleted his original add however I have the chat log of him confirming it was unlocked.

What a tool.

Even if he just unlocks it and sends back... how hard is that?
He's either sold the car or bought a locked one if he can't even do that

Name and shame is best way, seen a few people get refunds after sellers refusing.

I know this doesn't help you at all, but I'm surprised that Hondata don't offer a service where you pay them a fee for an unlock code, so that the Flashpros like this one can be easier to unbrick. I use to have a similar style tuning box for my Clio 182 and the company that made them let you buy any random box whether it was unlocked or not, and they would simply charge you for the code to unlock it, that way they still made money from every person that used it.
