Getting my flashpro today

Hi,

Getting my Flashpro today and plan to put the group N map on it myself. Has many people done this themselves? I plan to get a gruppe m induction kit and a hks exhaust so will get it properly tuned when I do.

Also my car only has 1700miles on it. Would there be any reason not to put the flashpro on yet?

Thanks, Mark

Cheers for the replies. Looking forward to it. Doubt there wil be better economy until the novelty wears off

Pigdog what results you get from the dyno? Not big into stats anyway but curious! Just looking forward to having abit more power in the midrange.

Earlier VTEC means that you dont rev as much. Added to the better fueling if you change the AFR like Paul from tdi does.. I get 50 miles+ extra to a tank now.. my last tank was 100+!!

came out with 225 on the dyno mate, but feels like more to be honest. feeling the gain in midrange mostly which is good.

no problems at all, ferry from dublin to holyhead and a couple of hours drive to warrington, stayed in hotel down the road from TDI for 3 days while work was being done, had a great time.

help me out here, so you're saying to get as fast as you want to go you dont rev as high cos the vtec kicks in quicker? but wouldn't you use more fuel being in the vtec zone, more than being in high revs?

Its in comparison to revving the thing before to 8k.. Now I just get to 5k and its enough... I dont often hit the limiter anymore..

Good on you mate, I'm heading over to TDI sometime next month to get mine done too, although it will be properly tuned to the mods I've got and not the Group N map

Got the group N map installed no problem. What a difference!! Everything just feels so much smoother and the extra surge of power lower in the revs is soooo much better. Havnt got to really test it due to pretty wet weather here. Love it though!!

Just a quick side question here, is it worth getting the FlashPro without having any mods on the engine? Besides the lower vtec ofc. And are the standard maps good enough, or do i need to get to a tuner? Don't know if there are any around here to be honest.

The Group N Map is fine, you dont need a full session really imo. You wont gain alot, prob 3-5 at the top but the midrange is what were talking about here...

Got £550?? get spending!

I have no mods done to the car...yet! I do plan to get a Gruppe M and Exhaust (not 100% sure what setup yet) and get it properly fine tuned when I do.

Think this should be everyones first modification as it really does transform the car, the smoothness is brilliant, especially in cold weather. My daily commute is about 3 miles each way so the car is cold for the majority of that journey so it has made a big difference for me.

Elimination of rev hang has also put a smile on my face as before when I put my foot down in third at 2-3k there was a slight 'dead spot' before the power kicked in. This is now gone.

The best is obviously the introduction of vtec at 3800. Unbelieveable! Hitting vtec in now never more that 1k away.

Get it done if anyone is considering it!
