Flashpro question
I have heard a lot of talk about flashpro and how it lowers the vtec.
Does this not do any damage to the engine? I thought the vtec meant the cam tilted when it hit a certain revs so I can't see how changing this can be safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Its not as if your asking it to do something its not designed to do, its just doing it sooner than later, I would have thought its better for your engine as you dont have to rev it as hard to get that midrange power.

There is a difference between VTC and Vtec. VTC adjusts cam angle Vtec just means that both inlet valves open fully thus creating more air flow.
It cannot damage the motor at all. |

Re: Flashpro question
Does sound good.
Sorry to sound an idiot but when you hit vtec does the cam tilt and the inlet valves open? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think you will find the inlet, not to mention the exhaust valves open all the time te engine is running vtec or no vtec.
Cam rotation is also happening constantly on both high and low cam but it is only the intake cam that had the capability to alter upto 50' from zero position. Exhaust cam is fixed. Flashpro allows possibility to alter not only vtec window but full cam settings, fuel and ignition tables to allow a trained mapper to tune your car to it's optimum efficiency to deliver best performance and economy. Mapping cars has been around for years. This isn't some new rocket science or black art developed for Type-Rs |

Long USB lead or drag your PC to the car. It all needs to be connected to run through the registering flashpro and licking to the car before you can load the map. Also need an Internet connection.
Same with unlocking. |

My next question is if it is more efficient for performance and economy to have the vtec lower on the revs than it is just now why did Honda not do this with the car? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The car runs rich for safety on the engine but it doesn't need to be as rich as it is...as for why they didn't do this...is maybe a bit like askin why didn't they make it 230 bhp standard to be more competitive with it's rivals etc
don't worry bout the questions I ask all the time it's the only way to learn IMO |
