Flashpro and stock fn2

Hi,

As my first step into mods I'm thinking of getting a flashpro so that I can enable the lower vtec point and window.

I notice that there are maf and map options and, whilst the map settings allow greater configuration, am i better off just using a maf calibration as I don't have any non standard parts.

If so which one will give the best results for a stock car?

Once I decide which extra mods to buy then I can take it to col or tdi for a proper tune.

Thanks

mark

For stock you only need to and should use MAF. MAP is mainly only for forced induction cars, or highly tuned NA cars (cams, etc.) Also with MAP you lose a load of functions on the trip computer. Even the fuel gauge wont work correctly (which is the only real downside).

Best thing to do would be to get a flashpro and get it tuned to stock. Will be a big improvement over stock. It should be the first mod IMO (even though i didnt and got an air intake first).

BTW when you say tuned to stock, do you mean take it someone like CPL or can I just use one of the starting calibrations?

Until I buy some mods I'm only really looking to adjust the VTEC window to lower it - do you know if I can do that without adjusting other parameters like CAM angles etc?

If I can do this does anyone have a recommended setting?

I don't want to break anything!

thanks

Yes i meant tuned by a professional like CPL, TDi, etc.
However with no accompanying mods you could get away with using someone elses tune who is tuned to stock.

However IMO if you are going to do it, do it right and spend the extra money to get tuned by a pro.

Ah ok thanks - i just assumed as the car was standard there would be some standard calibrations I could apply until I decided which mods I wanted (or could afford ).

After a little google-ing I notice some people seem to be using the group N maf calibration, has anyone tried this?

Also could I increase the vtec lower window point to say 4,500 without any other setting changes?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to figure out what is possible and safe based on other CTR owners experiences.

thanks
