hi there my battery when dead the other day after a jump start i took the car for a quick drive and found out that my car has return to stock map is it possible for me to upload the custom map that i had on flashpro or do i have to take it back to the tuner and do the mapping again thx

Hi bro, if yr car is tuned using flash pro, I think it's quite impossible to go back to stock by disconnecting battery... It don't work tat way...
Anyway, to reflash yr map, just plug in yr fp n turn key to on without firing up e car, n hold e prog button on e fp for a couple of sec... Wait til e blinking light goes off...

The ecu cannot go back to stock when disconnecting the battery.

that what i fought but for some reason i can only hit vtec at 5600rpm now but before i can hit vtec at 3400rpm

The VTEC only comes in, if the coolant is on temperature.
Stock and standard is on 60° Celsius, only than comes the VTEC in!

Who did your tune? I was always under the impression 3400rpm was too low to switch to the 2nd cam

I read someone had a vtec crossover at 2000 but that was on a charged car am sure!

ECUs don't normally get erased when disconnected. Much more likely the jump startings messed something else up. You have to be a bit carefull with jump starting these cars as some of the higher current boosters have been known to fry things.

Oh and don't ever "bump" start any K20 motor by pushing it backwards! 9/10 you will jump the timing and then it's a recovery job.

i had it done at tdi south your right r555 i do feel that vtec at 3400rpm was too low i didn't feel the pull as much then when i had the stock map

Take it back and get the "map upgrade" done, I think you'll find your VTEC will then go up to something like 4200. When mine was at 3400 it would drop on and off VTEC when using cruise control at 70mph, it was awful

Sorry,just to clarify... are you saying you shouldn't JUMP start a car using reverse gear?
And what is 'jumping the timing'?

To clarify "Jump" starting is the term given to starting by using an externally connected electronic booster pack. Some use extremely high current which can damage electronic components.

"Bump" starting is when you get your mate to push the car and you lift the clutch whilst in gear which spins the motor. It makes the car bump hence the term.
If you push it backwards whilst in a forward gear it spins the motor backwards and as there isn't any tension on the timing chain so it jumps a few teeth. You would think its obvious not to do it but you would be suprised how often it happens when people just don't think straight on a cold morning.

Your vtec point doesn't change when the updated flash was done. It's just utilising latest changes for knock control.

Vtec point is determined by cams and mods and most cars with stock cams "optimum" crossover point is around 3500rpm

Vtec jumping in and out is something entirely different and because the activation manifold pressure is at the point. That's cured by putting low rpm point pressure very high. Hondata "stock" pressures was in reality pretty low and that's what most people were basing their start calibrations on.

Anyway. It still shouldn't loose the map. If it has it will be a first. You will need to get it checked out though as possibly damaged a sensor

Yes you can but we seen cars parked on slopes that people just forget and roll the car backwards in a forward gear and it jumps timing.
Probably better just to get into your mind just not to go backwards at all!

It's obvious but it does happen.

Probably better just to get into your mind just not to go backwards at all! It's obvious but it does happen.
