No, I disagree, I think this looks quite cool.
Not sure it is practical, but it looks good.

It looks incredible with those doors, you must be the first on civinfo to fit them. I wouldn't do it myself though.
  1. How easy is it to open and close these doors ?
  2. What are the panel gaps like, are they as good as standard doors ?
  3. Could you add a couple more pictures - a side on picture and one of the door hinge mechanism ?
  4. How do you rate the LSD doors yourself?

>How easy is it to open and close these doors ?

Very easy. The practical part is that the doors open normally to about 1/3 of the previous gap. You dont have to raise them if you dont want to. The gas strut takes most of the weight.

>What are the panel gaps like, are they as good as standard doors ?
Yes, no problem with panel placement or fit at all.

>Could you add a couple more pictures - a side on picture and one of the >door hinge mechanism ?

Sure. I'll do this.

>How do you rate the LSD doors yourself?

Totally impracticle, completely unnecessary and fairly expensive, but it's unique, at least here in Switzerland and I like the effect.

I like the idea of them opening in about 1/3 of the normal gap - very useful for tight parking spaces.

What makes them impractical other than the cost and pulling a crowd every time you open them?

You say you dont have to raise them, do they open like normal doors as well ?

The doors open completely normally out to 1/3. Then you can choose whether to lift them or leave them.

The mechanism is shown here:
http://www.z-online.ch/WSB/prod_03.asp?KundenID=Forcar2&S=1&ProduktID=166577
Text in German.

The impractibilty is having to explain how they work everytime and warning people, particularly my young daughter and nephew to mind their heads when getting in and out. The lower door edge and corner can be a bit of a challenge.

The doors are very nice but how practical are they? I always have some thing in the door pockets and I am sure everything would come out if I had doors like that .

Having said that, they door look very, very nice
