Cool Christmas Clean - Goodbye salt!!

Well, would be rude not to treat the car to a christmas clean....

Its done about 1300miles since the last clean and boy did it need it!! The weather, road conditions and salt made it look very second hand indeed....and i can't be having that!!

To start - assessing the task - yes it was very very dirty!:

Right - out with the snow foam, letting it dewl on the car for 3mins

Pressure washer out - don't usually use a pressure washer, but it was the only way to shift the dirt - the wax from the previous detail session had stoud the test of time and shown by some beeding

The car was then washed thoroughly to remove the remaining crap

After the wash the car was dried, using a detailing spray to help along the way. As the weather report promissed rain for this evening, rather than going nuts a doing a full detail, the cars wax finish was topped up with swissvax onyx. Before applying the wax i inspected the paint work and it seemed clean with no contamenation, so i proceeded with the wax.

The results....speak for them selfs really...enjoy!!

Merry Christmas everyone - and remember - there's no excuses not to clean your motor this holiday period!!

Dan

Done a good job there. Is the swisswax easy to apply? Been thinking of getting some.

Thanks.

Yeah the onyx i have is a very easy to apply and very easy to wipe off - plus it smells like mangos!! lol

I was using nattys paste wax before swissvax, but i find the swissvax a lot easier to use and in my opinion it gives better results on darker cars.

Was only a quick detail today, i didn't have time to do clay/polish/glaze/seal/wax - i think it took about 2hours total.

Yes, I hate this time of year. Did mine yesterday and it's in the garage and that's where it's staying until after Xmas.

I wish my house had a garage

But in my area house's with garages demand a silly premium, its a shame i can't fit one down the side of the house, its about 2ft too small in width!

I was hoping to give mine a christmas spruce up today cause it's looking depressingly dirty and hasnt been cleaned in god knows how long but I didnt get chance. I have asked for lots of car cleaning stuff off santa though so fingers crossed I'll be able to give it some love in the next week or so.

Very shiny indeed!

Very impressed! You have seriously put some effort into the mini valet even for the tripod out for the SLR:P

Can you post some pics of the products you use? I want to know the "Snow Foam' specially as it looks like it takes of the dirt nicely while dripping off....
