What do you think of the pics below. Only after the bodyshop agreed to re-do the wing I figured i might go for a whole new shade, they can't seem to mix Honda colours anyway.

....hmmm...well, you'd certainly stand out in a crowd of Civics

...or should that be 'a gathering of Civics'?

RR, the orangy one looks better... the second one is definately not your colour.

So when are they going to re-spray your car

They are sending a paint expert from the bodyshop people to look at it tomorrow. By the sound of things it is a common thing with bodyshops to not match the colour. I was just talking to a colleague who has a 4yr old Civic in Milano Red, when she had an accident her insurers bodyshop sprayed her doors up and they are not as "red" as the rest of the car.

I have had the car parked outside my house for only 10 days in the last 3 1/2 weeks. Its having the rear shocks done today, and they are still deciding what to do with the front bumper (I thought that was being done as well today, oh well, must be another trip back to the dealer)

I want my car to be all one colour with everything fixed.

I seem to remember PINK being discussed as a car colour...?

Thought you might have considered that if you want to stand out

Rob
The Orange one is similar to my Peugeot 206CC
Looks good on a Civic in my Opinion.....

Anyway ......i thought you were supposed to be working not "paintshopping" your Civic !!!

Please lets not go down that route..... I was a member of a few uk smart owners clubs and they try and name everything, from their cars, to groups of cars, to meets. Everything has to have a name over there and it's very erm..... "Special needs"

Let's just leave the naming out shall we .

Ps. To be totally honest, if it comes to jolly pirate nick names for everything then I will be off, it totally ruined the smart ownership as it always felt like you were chatting to a bunch of kids not like minded individuals . Sorry, feel that passionate about it. (Bad enough already with all the "space ship" talk )

Pps. Not digging you Efla7

Anyway, Peace out

I was impressed with your red Civic, most cars look "average" in red but it honestly surprised me.... (its the first red one i have seen and the photos look good .....but its better in the metal).....shame they hashed it up with the paint matching

I think its noticable and most good spray shops using the correct paints (and laquers) can make it tough to tell where the work was done.... My Peugeot was Metallic bronze/orange and when it was t-boned (it got a new door, repair and blend in spray down one side) no-one could tell which door was replaced and even Peugeot dealer was impressed and no they did not do it.

Hope you get it sorted... i know its a hassle but you will be happier with it WHEN it is put right...... i kept the Peugeot for a couple of years after the accident which surprised me ....

Hi elfa, I did type in 'flock' but felt it sounded a bit 'sheepish' so I changed it to 'gathering'. Al.

The mismatch is quite noticable in the right light so make sure they get it right next time

CivPilot - don't worry, we'll keep the kid element at bay here (or maybe in their own section, if it ever happens). Elfa I suspect had his tongue slightly embedded in his cheek, and (I hope he doesn't mind me mentioning this) is, er, far from being a kid.

RR is suffering mental anguish, as he slaves away at home, working his fingers off 14 hours a day (your employers do read this, don't they) looking out of his window and getting frustrated at his Pinkano Red 3 Hondota, and we should provide him with the outlet here to post a trillion pictures of his slightly mismatched Toyonda to make him feel much better. A kind of therapy.

RR - post away. Get it out of your system. Do it, man! Then smoke me some bacon.

Thanks for all you support guys. Me thinks perhaps MC Hammer may have PS'd my picture, or i need to go and get me eyes checked. The chap is outside as we speak working on the car. I have little more faith in this one, has he can actually mix up a tinted lacquor and will have the chance to finish it properly. Just pretty hard working with a Ford Transit sitting at fast idle outside on the drive and every so often his compressor kicking in.

Re the bacon, I put a batch of smoked in this morning. Make some pancetta type thing for a carbonara at the end of the week, although the chances are I will just have it as streaky bacon.
