Hi,

Do you have any pics of where or how did you run those new cables to doors.
I have also 5 channel amp and want to run my front end actively, but i have not manage to find route for new cables to doors as to me original door adapters are full of connected wires allready.

Mike, car looks really good.
I to purchased the same head unit - It's quite a task to fit it (I'll post some pics when I remember) but it's a great piece of kit for the price.
One problem I do have is the radio doesn't seem to like the Honda aerial - I only get a clear sound from local radio, not sure why or how to improve this.
Keep up the good work

You bought the same unit ? Nice !
Yes it is difficult to install but it is worth it.

The nice tool that is has is the bluetooth connectivity.

Although I have an Apple iPhone, the unit can connect to it properly and when someone calls me, the display of the unit shows me the number and I can reject or take the call. Also, I can make a call very easily by typing on the units screen the number and talk. Through the cars speakers I here the one I am talking and he listens to me through the unit's microphone.

I fitted the unit few days ago and took some pictures for you to see...

Here you can see the metal frame by Phonocar for holding in place the new unit. The fascia is also fitted.

Below, the white cable with the black tape is actually a set of small cables that drive the factory unit that seats at the back of the car...

Because we could not find a place to hide the factory unit, we placed at the rear of the car, inside a small wooden box, custom of course created...

The cable for the subwoofer now cannot be seen by someone.

This is the result inside the car now. The small grey near the gear stick is the usb. The unit has at the time of the photo, the plastic protection on it.

Hi

Looks great, you have done a good job there. How difficult was it to install, was the wiring plug and play or did you have done some modifications? Does the honda head unit fit in the extra compartment in the boot?

My friend who installed it, is a professional. Although, we started at 10 in the morning and finished nearly at 8 in the evening. Of course, we stopped for eating lunch.
About the wiring...all the wiring for the factory unit was kept, just a bit longer for putting it at the boot. The new unit only needed power and speakers wiring(rca to the amplifier). Also the radio antenna wire.
From the pictures you can see that the new wooden box that we made, was measured for putting inside the factory unit.

thanks for the info, I am very tempted to do this now

One other question, with the position of the screen in the facia is the LCD clear from the angle at the drivers seat?

Well...it is clear and you can watch quite good. The same for the co-driver of course. The best angle though is when sitting at the back and looking the lcd straight.

Because the steering wheel controls do not work with other than the factory one, I ordered from USA a universal controller, that is programmable and can control up to 12 different commands. The item arrived after few days that I ordered it. When I install it I will post comments on it.
