Black Nighthawk, Silver Sealed

Picked up my Civic from a shining/paint shop today. Had it treated with Silver Seal, and the windows with a "professional grade" Rain-X equivalent (they say it's pro stuff, something you can't buy in the shops).

It was all fine and dandy except for one thing. For some reason the car's interior was incredibly damp. Look at the windows. The mist is on the inside, not outside. Water literally trickled down the windows. I set the de-mister and AC to full power and let it idle for a few minutes before I drove the car home, but it was not enough to get all the humidity out.

The air inside the workshop was really warm and damp, but I just wonder how it all ended up inside the car. I should hope there's not a leak in the seals. If that's the case (and I hope not), maybe some water ended up inside the car when they washed it.

This is the first picture of my new car I've posted here. Without further adue:

Very nice picture.
Do you think the garage left a window open when they cleaned your car. If the seats are damp, its a possibility. Also, check the boot, see if thats dry.

Only the windows seemed damp. The trunk didn't feel too damp either, but it was difficult to tell because it was raining outside and my hands were wet.

The two spaces (the trunk and the passenger space) are connected, anyway, so any moisture should spread throughout the car, no?

Did they 'Scotch guard' the interior or something similar, if they did this could be the cause.

WoolyCiv: They didn't do anything to the interior, but I guess just having the car doors open for a while in the warm, damp interior of the workshop was enough to let the moisture in. Did some more driving last night, the problem is now fixed. The AC took care of the moisture. I'm now relieved, since I'm pretty sure there are no leaks in the seals. It was raining, a massive downpour, and nothing came in.

mugen2: The Silver Seal treatment was €180 and the "Rain-X Pro" was €20.

Nice pic of your new baby Skaven did you really take that pic yday? I'm just wondering where the snow is that we got a lot of yday in the afternoon? Must have been in the morning. Well, today that snow is luckily melted, still I'm not sure what I hate most; snow or rain I choose the rain!

Rain and snow are ok, but sleet is nasty. Especially horizontal sleet. That is, it's so windy that the sleet flies horizontally, straight into your face. Gah!

But yeah, the "20 centimeters of snow" the weather guys promised seemed unusually wet and of low volume. What about further up north?

yeah, you're right, sleet is the most awful and dangerous too, I fully agree! One needs a extremely optimistic and postive way of thinking to get along with that
Dunno about further up north cause like you I'm living in Espoo too

How's your baby this morning, hope it has dried up inside?

I was driving "up north" in Vantaa yesterday and the weather was very different to what we experienced in Helsinki.

Car is looking very good. You just wait for all that salt to show up on the sides.

Hmm, where exactly is Vantaa?? Nah, just kiddin' I know, it's there faaaar in the north... was it more snow there?
Luckily with my baby's champagne silver colour that salt isn't so visible compared to the red colour Saab 9-3 I had before. Still, on the windscreen sides it's visible, but pretty easy to clean up with a separate wiper and some water.

It was pretty chaotic with most drivers still on summer tyres and the snow coming down quite heavily.

There's snow in Espoo now too.

Tell me about it. I'm actually considering leaving the car in the garage and just walking to work. I can afford to do that. Plus I get some exercise.
