The Type R rear lights are a great mod.
I fitted mine with Philips Silver Vision indicator bulbs to finish the look, as I think I can see some orange in your picture.
De-Tangoed Type S

Are you thinking about replacing the central part of the lighting cluster as well with the Type R smoked glass one??

for the 2 of you who have done this R indicator mod -

would it be possible to de-construct the normal indicator housing to remove the orange plastic, or is it all moulded and bonded in?

Looks very nice

With regards the R centre piece - it looks like we may need to play with the brake lights too, as the R version doesn't have the fog light in it like the normal one does. Might need to move the fog to where the inner brake lights are on the 5door / S

no , i'm not replacing the central part. i don't like the smoked glass in combination with the rest of the lights.

I had come to the same conclusion, but wanted to see some decent pictures of the whole lot done to see if I liked it or not. I will have to wait for Ivoke to finish his Vivid Blue project

TT, the lamp is glued/bonded/moulded/stuck together and there doesn't appear to be any way to dismantle it and remove the orange bit.
And I should know about these things. To de-tango the headlights on my Bugeyed Impreza, you had to remove the headlight assembly and place it in the oven and cook it to soften the sealant enough to break open the unit.
Many an Impreza headlight unit melted in an oven because the instructions were in Fahrenheit and people dialled up the temp in Centigrade (not good for the plastic )

I looked on the Osram website, and they don't seem to do the wedge type bulb that is fitted to the Civic.
The Philips Silver Vision is the only e-Marked wedge bulb I have found to be available.

Cheers Foggy - hey ho, so much for a cheap fix

still - probably just as well.
I might have saved a few quid on the lenses, but it would have cost me mucho when wife found them in the oven...

That blue is certainly improved with the trims being paint matched like that.

Well done.
