Smile NHB Type S gt...2months in.

Hello long time lurker, rare poster.(hope photobucket works)

I got rid of my wee 1.6 sport for my NHB 2.2 Type S. Was a long thought out decision to choose it over the Type R....so dont spam my post up with "why didn't you just get a Type R"....because i Didnt want one

Not to say there not briliant cars, as u'll see i've made a very happy medium for myself

The old to the new...

We all know the Type S is in need of the Type R spoiler, and the bodykit colour coded....thought I'd try somthing with the rear light bar aswell...

Pretty happy with the exterior at the moment, I made a wee change to the interior, they help so much more with fast road use.

Seats were just fitted yesterday, will cover up the "R" or the whole writing really soon...but as of yet undecided on what i plan 2 do with it..as its not the type r.

Futre plans...coming soon... alloy wheel refurb - Custom made exhaust.

All Comments Welcomed

The car looks superb! Congratulations, but although you said we should speak about it... Why didn`t you buy the R-Model???

As i don`t know the prices in the UK, i need to speak of the Austrian prices. And if i start to spend so much money on buying the Type-R-seats, spoiler, colourcode everyhing, buy 18inch-wheels, exhaust and so on, if you like it or not, i have to ask: Why didn`t you buy the TypeR.

More power, better sound, beeter interiour, nearly same use of petrol, better looks and much more fun! Until today i always tell myself: Why the hell didn`t i buy the prestige-one???

Your car looks great! Have fun, and i hope you will never get unhappy with your decision

For its intended purpose, it more than does the job, the torque alone creates a big enough smile =)

you look at a type R and ....its a Type R If I park beside another Type S or a 5dr civic etc... it just stands out that wee bit more...without being a Type R. Slightly softer suspension...and the basic fact, Me with my Money wanted a Turbo Diesel, and to stay with honda

Thanks for the reply

nice car like what you have done. after all its your car do as you please
but as for slightly softer suspension than the R i think there is a lot more to a ctr than softer suspension compared to 2.2 diesel cts.

Looks good but I would have kept the original seats.
It needs a 'Sports Grill' too and some side decals
Apart from that..Looks good

Ye your rite, there would be a lot more trips to the old petrol station . My choice at this time is the old dougy diesel...will go for a nice fd2 when the time comes.

The people saying remove the logo from the seats and about buying the Type R are lame...

Some of us want cheaper insurance & better MPG while getting all the good looks! It doesn't live up to the performance but a remap on the 2.2 cdti makes it a 'nippy' car!

I want those seats but can't justify the money lol... other then that it looks sweeet!

i dont do a lot of miles so type r it is. diesels only good for ya if you do 14k plus a year.my insurance is only £300 for a ctr.plus diesel is bettter on the motorway so more relaxing than a ctr, thats it. the ctr is better in every other dept.the seats do transform the interior...take you got the rear bench changed aswell.anyway nice car

I found the seats on ebay. I always drooled over the type R seats when i had my Sport...they were always collection only at the bottom of england...bad times.

So I stumbled across these seats, emailed the guy asking for the truth on them, are they all twisted n bent? holes? burns? deployed airbags?....he replied No they are in mint condition, then i noticed he was 15miles up the road GOOD TIMES.

I went and checked out the seats, his wife has the blue/silverish 1.8 petrol type s...and the seats dont look as nice in the car hence the sale.

In the end up, i got the front n rear seats all in at £450....which i need to admit i'm well chuffed with .

With regard to your post Milano.J I'm doin between 25k-28k miles a year you might understand a little more why the Type R'd...Type S is a wee bit of a better option, especially with my really heavy right foot I'll be 21 later this year...and i have all my mods declared on my Type S, and insurance is still brilliant. They were hanging me for Type R insurance lol FD2's will be in my price range when i'm ready 2 jump ship.

Thanks for the comments chaps.

Talking black on black =)

Haven't completly decided on what wheels i will buy, as i quite like the look of the standard ones, for the time being i gave them a little re-furb yesterday.
