Champ Champagne Charlie/Charley/Charlene

Picked up my car today, now to decide on a name while I read the manual.

First thoughts (now I actually own it compared to the test drives):
Sound from the speakers is poor. At low volume the bass totally disappears. I'm not an audiophile, but I think changing the door speakers is in order. Now where is the link?
Diesel has sooooo much pulling power (torque, although I reckon the car has enough of the other "pulling power" should I need it, I parked out of the way in a supermarket yet a couple of cars had to park alongside to have a good look), I was again surprised at the "get up and go" of it, which meant I seemed to very quickly exceed the speed limits. But then I realised how to set and use the cruise control which helped.
Have to change my signature as well!

How about Chablis? Its a French name and means "white wine", as does the other name Champagne, but that one is kinda already taken in the colour name!

I believe its pronounced Shab-Lee, Champagne Chablis sounds kinda cool!

A bit too "Footballers Wives" for me, but then Charmaine is a bit to close to Charmin toilet rolls (although some may think a Civic is a bit toilet!).
A girls name beginning with C, that embodies the chic design is what i'm looking for.

Hello Terry,

Nice car, I hope to pick up mine in february. But what about the mudflaps at the front- and rearwheels. Are you forced by the UK government to take this option? It strikes me that a lot of the UK Civics on the picturesgallery have these mudflaps. In Holland the Civics normally come without the mudflaps and the option is hardly ever taken by the buyers. In my point of view these flaps don't make the car look better. It affects the "look" of the car. But if you were living in the country they will be handy on the muddy roads I guess.

First clean today, and I found a couple of dents on the bonnet. They don't really show head on, but when viewed from the side you can see them.
And the fuel filler cap sticks, but did open after a few pulls!
Call to the dealer tomorrow.

Hi mfp,
I went to Woburn safari park yesterday, and some animal droppings and mud got spread around the wheel arches so I had to clean the car.
It was only then that I realised that I had mudflaps!
Note: I didn't dare take the car into the monkey enclosure, far too many parts would have been removed!

mudflaps are to protect your own car's paintwork AND the windscreen of others (flying stones / steenslag!)
IMHO the Netherlands insuring companies should promote the use of mudflaps but they don't.

Has anybody else had the problem of the mudflaps dragging on speed bumps and subsequently pulling away from thier attachments. The rigid structure has them trying to rip free, causing slight distortion to the skirt and arch trim. I took it up with the Honda dealer who advised me to remove them, but would not consider refunding me the £100 paid for them.
