About once evey 2 weeks with a gentle wash over with plain water. Reason being......
It has a nice thick coat of Zymol wax on it (loving applied by my own hands). Its top stuff, due a refresher in about 2 months. Bloomin expensive stuff though I drive about 60miles a day minimum so keeping the car clean is hard, but with a good base coat of wax on it the shine seems easy to get back with minimal effort. |

Nice car!!
My black one has had a good coat or 2 of wax already but I still need to wash it every week to keep it looking nice and alloys clean! One word of warning though - I had a scratch or 2 to get out the other day and the polish has left holographic marks to an extent I haven't seen before!! Going to get some Auto Glym to sort it out this week but worth being careful with it!! J |

I wouldnt bother with Autoglym. It aint as great as everyone makes out.
Save some money and go to halfords for some MEGUIARS car polish. They do something called "scratch-X" which very effectively removes surface crazing and light scratches whilst not damaging the paint work. Another trick to avoid swirling is to put the wax on in a straight line by hand (you can do this better with a hard wax like Zymol). Here's a site with some info on the stuff.... http://www.performancemotorcare.com/...FSavQgodM19JuA Like i say Halfords sell it and it is WAY better than Autogym ps. I've owned the car since December 2005 so know all about the cleaning side of things. My car is currently wearing 65% Carnuba Zymol wax (approx £120 per tub) |

I also swear by Maguiars stuff.......I personally use Maguiars 1,2 and 3 step polish treatment on my car (or did) and my motorbikes......the third stge also contains Canuba Wax.....
Like said before, it ain't cheap, but it IS the best. |

Re. the paintwork.
When people say the paintwork is "swirly" or scratched. Is it the mettallic paint that is damaged, and not the colour underneath. Say for example the bonnet is swirly, and we use a polish to get rid of the swirls. We are in effect removing the protective coat, could this lead to paint fade in the future ?. Just a query really. |
