I don't know - the rims don't suits the car well. At least for my taste .
And that plastic thingy shouldn't be so shiny.

LOL
Sorry mate for the bad translation then

The black pieces you can see are the Type R sideskirt which has been claimed many times not to fit the car by numerous deales and such.
But it DOES.... well sort of. There is a 1 cm gap at the back door which we are currently working on..
Have just ordered the rest og the pieces.

So stay tuned for a big transformation

For those of you that yould say: "WHy bother, buy a Type R instead?!"
Well, the Type R cost £40.000 in Denmark - and thats even without CD/tuner og ANYTHING! The GT with everything cost £45.000. Plus it would cost me £2200 in yearly insurance.
So next time you complain about car prices give us Danish people a thought

Good luck with the transformation. Are you planning to colour code the skirts.

As for not buying a Type R, well that's simple. They don't do it in Vivid Blue

Exactly! When everything is colour coded even the "real" Type R owners will envy the colour!

Yeah a zillion in taxes.. But unfortunatly thats the way it is

I will keep you all updated when there are news.
I expect to get the pieces next week:
Type R Grand Prix front and rear in Silver (easier for colour coding)
Type R rear triangle exhaust endings
Type R side skirt and wheel "thingies" in black like above
Type R rear spoiler in black
Type R Grill - front
Type R ligths back. All 5 lamps for a complete makeover

So stay tuned to see how it fits. After fitting everything will be unmounted and painted in Vivid Blue

Why didn't you just get a Tyre-R instead ? Would've saved you all that work

I don't know what I should be thinking of all this Frankenstein stuff. Perhaps because having a CTR myself, I don't think it's fair or original.
Or perhaps I would be doing the same if I didn't have a CTR. Replacing the grill is easy enough, even for me, so I would've probably done that.

Let's just say working on your car keeps you of the streets

Hi, I am form Greece and I found this site few days ago. It’s really interesting for me as I have a civic 5doors vivid blue too. Well, I am grad to find you since you try to put spoilers type R in civic. Last week I ordered the spoilers type S but are not dyed and cost lower. Also, I realized that it would be a space at the back doors when I put the new spoilers but the mechanic told me he will fix it. So, it’s not a problem. The rest of them it would be okay.
Moreover, I need the spoiler type R but I have to wait till someone will construct it in Greece, in order to find it in lower prices.
We would be in touch for other problems, if you don’t mind of course!!!

At last all the parts arrived. I have been waiting some while cause not everything was in stock.

Pic 1
Wow - a lot of boxes!

Pic 2
The Rear Spoiler was unpacked. We were anxious to see how it was attached to the original Type R. It had 4 bolt underneath wich apparently had to be screwed into the lower rear window. As this is not possible on the 5 door - they were removed and the spoiler fitted perfectly. When it has been painted it will have to be glued on then..

Pic 3
As mentioned earlier - the sideskirts do not fit entirely. They will have to be modified. So we started with some glass fiber and after a lot of trial and error it seemed like a reasonable fit.

Pic 4
The sideskirts have been layered with glass fiber paste - it takes some time for all this to harden (about 12 hours) so we did not have the time to do more this weekend.

Wow - what a project this is. But I think it is fun to make this possible. Hope you enjoy following this project. Hope to begin with the wheel arches maybe next week...

Hi Jay! With particular interest i watch your project. And mine spoiler has delayed a lot they come. Certain pieces have come, wait for the rests. I believe that you will be first in the word that will this project. Also i believe that you have plased most beatiful alloy 19'' chrome that i have seen in Honda civic. Your spoiler that you took they are dyed blacks? I ordered spoiler his type s in order to they come out more economically. 750 euros i will pay for the spoiler without rear spoiler and 400 euros roughly i will give in the engineering him it dyes and him pass. I wait for your news and by any chanc problems from the project. My apology for englich. I hope you anderstand what you i write...

Hey Jimp
Thank you for your kind words
It is correct they are all black - actually NHB paint. We used our DEMO car to order from in the Honda system and this is a black one. But it will be painted. I also think you want yours painted when you get it fitted!
Can't wait to see the end result of both yours and my project..

Hey Jay!
Nice work, it looks real nice so far. I have i question about the rear Type-R Spoiler. Why cant you screwe it into the lower rear window on a 5 door? Is it not possible to just make som new holes in the plastic lower rear window?

Keep up the good work!

Cheers
/RogS

Forgive me for being a Numpty, but does this mean that to get type R body kit to fit a 5 door, all you need to do is fill that wee strip in where the rear doors are?

There is no difference in the length of the cill between wheel arches? Or difference in fixing points?

If it really is that easy then I think I'll be looking into this too.
